The Lithic Technology Laboratory is housed at the Department of Anthropology, University of California, Riverside. Facilities and equipment include a lithics laboratory for research and instruction, work and storage space for collections analysis, offices for post-graduate and graduate researchers, a stoneworking area, extensive teaching collections, substantial supplies of lithic materials for replication experiments, microscopes, photographic equipment, ultraviolet fluorescence equipment, lithic heat-treatment kilns, and other necessities. In addition, substantial archaeological collections of lithic assemblages are maintained for research purposes.

UCR is located in southern California with easy access to sister academic institutions, such as UC Los Angeles and UC San Diego, and the natural environment of coastal beaches, and nearby mountains and deserts, in which the University of California maintains research facilities.
