Student Minigrants/Student Senior Grants
Student Minigrants, awarded by the Office of Instructional Development, are designed to encourage undergraduates to engage in research, field work, or other creative activity under the close guidance of a faculty member. Maximum award is $400. Students are limited to a maximum of one minigrant per academic year. Deadline is in October for fall quarter projects, January for winter quarter projects, and April for spring quarter projects. Senior Student Grants, awarded by the Office of Instructional Development, are designed to encourage especially capable senior-status students to interact with faculty on research or other creative activity during the winter and spring quarters. Maximum award is $700. Deadline is in November. More information, deadline dates, and applications are available at http://instruction.ucr.edu/.
Faculty can only sponsor one student per quarter; if you’re interested in applying you should talk to a faculty member as soon as possible. Before you submit an application you must have your budget approved by Joye Sage (in the department office).
